Special Music Information

District and SEMSBA Music Festivals

Every year the Massachusetts Music Educators Association Southeast District (MMEA) and the Southeastern Massachusetts School Bandmasters Association (SEMSBA) each sponsor a music festival. To participate in a music festival, students must prepare a specific musical work selected by the festival committee and audition before an adjudicator. If accepted to the festival, students get the opportunity to rehearse and perform a concert with other fine young musicians from southeastern Massachusetts! These festivals are exceptional musical learning experiences and are also a lot of fun! If you are interested in participating in either of these music festivals or have any questions, please see Mr. Teunis in A103 or e-mail us!

Private Music Lessons

Private music lessons generally provide young music students with musical skills and insights that help them develop their talents more efficiently. We are fortunate to have many fine private music instructors here on the South Shore and I have listed a few local music lesson centers and private teachers below for your convenience:

The South Shore Conservatory – Duxbury – (781) 934-2731

Capacione’s School for the Arts – Bridgewater – (508) 378-9404

Middle Street Music – Plymouth – (508) 830-1766

Mack’s Music Center – Middleboro – (508) 946-1107

If you know of a quality music instructor in our area who you think would like to be listed on this page, please call Jeremy Teunis at (508) 866-6393 or e-mail us!

Musical Instrument Donations

In order to provide as many instrumental music opportunities for as many students as possible, the Carver Middle School Music Department will be accepting donations of musical instruments throughout the school year. If you have an instrument that is not being used and would like it to benefit a young musician, consider making a tax-deductible donation! For more information, please contact Jeremy Teunis at (508) 866-6393 or e-mail us!
