7th grade students design, construct and test scale balsa wood towers to see who can build the most efficient tower.  All 7th grade students construct towers with 12 - 1/8" x 1/8" x 12" Balsa Beams.  We Test the towers using a combination of the "Bridge Buster" From IASCO, and the "Digital Bridge and tower tester" from Modern School Supply. This allows us to find the peak weight held, and also graph the test on the computer.
